Dear Ed & Jerry,
I am one of the "Cook" kids from down the street on Marietta NE. When I heard your mother had passed away so many things came to my mind about her in the neighborhood,being secretary at Kent Hills,and of course my mom and little brother visiting her in Florida years ago. I had also corresponded with her a few times over the years and"Aunt Wilma & Uncle Randy" also kept us up on her news.What a GREAT lady!Our family is so sorry for your loss. Dear Jerry,

I recently learned of the home going of your mother. What joy we all have when we have been given the assurance of knowing where our loved one will go when they leave this temporary tent.

I have many wonderful childhood memories Jerry of how kind your mother always was when I viited your NE Grand Rapids home. She always seemed to have a smile on her face and always made me feel welcomed and loved.

Sorry I could not attend the service.

Knowing Ellen was a great pleasure. She was always happy to share her love of birds and nature.
When she moved from the lake we felt a loss but we all new she was very happy in her decision to move forward.
The community here at Long/Reyerson Lake on Point Pleasant is a strong one because Ellen help establish it.

I am truly sorry for the loss of this wonderful woman. She taught me so many things. I looked up to her in so many ways,and I am fortunate to have let her know just how much while she was still here. I will miss her smile and laughter. Keri was so lucky to have a least met her Grandmother once. Keri was very special to her. My Mother, Emma M. Corbett, and Ellen were life-long friends and we took my Mother to Muskegon a few years ago for a visit with Ellen and George at their Muskegon home. My Mother passed away at age 92 this past June 19th at her home in Jenison. She and Ellen kept in touch over the years and I still recall coming down from Big Rapids to Grand Rapids back in the 50s with my Mother to atttend the Shrine Circus with Ellen and her sons, Ed and Jerry. We will not be able to attend the memorial service, but will always have fond memories of Ellen who always had a kind heart and gentle manners. She will be missed, I'm sure. We appreciated George showing us his greenhouse plants during our last visit with them. Grandma gave us all such special memories. The best ones are from the cottage--all the walks down to the lake, the boat rides and the fishing. Grandma was there to put the worm on the hook, take the fish off and to make her special "Grandma's goulash" for supper. Everything and everyone was a peace with Grandma.
