Mrs. Elva Mae Blood's Obituary
Mrs. Elva Mae (Denstone) Blood, age 94, passed away peacefully with family by her side July 26, 2013. Elva was born on March 29, 1919 in East Jordan to Harry H. and Anna L. (Sheehy) Denstone. Her working career with Sealed Power was interrupted when she enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII. She returned to Muskegon to marry Archie A. Blood, Sr., and celebrated 46 years of marriage until his death in 1994. At the age of 50, Elva continued her working career as a LPN at Hackley Hospital until her retirement in 1981. Her love of life was her children and many grandchildren to follow. Surviving Elva is Archie A. Blood, Jr. of Holland, Gary (Lenora) Blood of Zeeland, Larry (Pamela) Blochard of Kalamazoo, Allan (Delores) Blood of Muskegon, and Barbara Ann Wolffis of Muskegon. She also has 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister-in-laws, Mrs. Marjorie Mundt, Mrs. Geraldine Lambkin, both of Muskegon, and Mrs. Wilma Blood of Traverse City. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 12 Noon, Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Crestwood United Methodist Church, 1220 Creston, with Rev. Steve Weinberger officiating, and Full Military Rites afforded under the auspices of the V.F.W. Muskegon County Council. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service (11:00 A.M. - Noon). Interment will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. In Lieu of flowers, MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Crestwood United Methodist Church or Harbor Hospice.
