For you Emmy.
May you always be loved.

Emily was one of my favorite recess helpers during our third grade time together - she was always willing to help set up science experiments or get ready for a birthday celebration. Emily even returned to be a helper during her fourth grade year💜She always went out of her way to make sure others had partners for pair share time. You will always be remembered with love Emily💜
Even if I am not there with my family, my prayers are extended and my love is given to all of you.

I'm lighting this candle for her so her light can help us on our paths forward 🙏

I don't remember the exact day it was but my mom was best friends with Becky from work, my mom introduced me and meeting Becky, I could tell why they were friends. They were almost like siblings the way they acted, I claimed their family as my own, calling Becky my Aunt and even asking her to be my godmother as my mom couldn't remember who she titled it to 😂 Becky lovingly and kindly accepted, her kids also taking me in and accepting me. I think I'm the oldest of Becky's kids and when I had noticed it there, I didn't know how to act like it. I'm the youngest of 2 blood siblings and like 4 step-siblings so being the oldest was new to me. Zander and Emily instantly took to that and Zander being taller made good fun of it 😂 Emily and Zander eventually asked if I would stay the night that night in which my mom agreed, going back home herself to get me a change of clothes. Emily was the first to offer her room, making it well known her bed was the biggest and her room was the warmest. That night, we stayed up till 6am, Zander sneaking in a few times to join us as we were finding all the multiplayer games we could download free on our phones just to play and delete. It was a great night for me as it was the first time I was at one of my mom's friends' houses and felt safe, was loved and cared for as if I was their own. It meant a lot to feel included in everything those 2 days. The next day we even went shopping 😂 It might not seem like much but that night as more it is now than I thought, but I knew that night I was never going to forget, that I was going to cherish it. Emily was an amazing person and deserved the world, fly high Em's. I know you're in a much better place, and I hope Jada keeps you plenty busy 🕊

Emily had such a bright spark about her! She was kind, smart, funny, and caring to many! Over the years she made me laugh on so many occasions. One memory that is sticking with me lately to the point I hear her beautiful voice and laugh is while I was helping to prepare burgers for Ashley's open house. We were joking around about how the ground beef was so cold and still frozen in spots. Emily looked at me, when I mentioned that my hands hurt from the cold and trying to break the meat apart, and said "It's just ground beef!" in this joking tone that it was a running joke the rest of that day, on the day of Ash's open house, and even the day they moved from East Kentwood to Muskegon.
Knowing Emily since she was born has been a pleasure. I saw her and her siblings grow up. Softball games, Birthdays, fun get together events, and just being around I love those small things and will never let them go.
