I did not know Mr. Stimac, just some of his family.
It is wonderful that so many students and friends of his are remembering him in such a warm way. Dear family, feel proud of the person Emmett was and let the memories carry on in you. May God truly bless you as you move forward with his love in your hearts.##imported-begin##Connie Kuzma##imported-end##
A couple fond memories about coach Mac. Recently my son had away game to play OV's JV basketball team and while we were watching the game my 12 year old daughter asked if I had ever ran track for OV because she saw my name on the record board. First of all I was amazed that the record still stood after 30 years but what really came to mind was "Coach Mac". Coach spent numerous hours perfecting our baton exchanges in the 400 relay. He was a special man and coach that really cared about the kids. One other note, back when I was in 8th grade I could'nt figure out how he always got the pretty girls in my class to tie his shoes. I was jealous.

What a wonderful person and a great influence as a teacher. He had a way of getting more out of a child than they thought possible. And he never forgot his students. He continued to ask about our daughter long after she graduated. We were neighbors for many years and he would stop to chat when he saw us out in the yard, we'll miss that. Emmett, you were definitely a one-of-a-kind person. Your family can be proud of who you were.##imported-begin##Darlene & Bruce Anderson##imported-end##
In life you meet people who have a great influence on your life and Mr. Stimac was one of them. I had him as a teacher, a drivers ed instructor, and a coach, but the lessons he taught me were not in the classroom or in the car. They were lessons he taught of life. Respect, for others and for yourself, dicipline and doing the right thing. He was a great teacher who taught because he loved to and loved his students. He knew what we were capable of even more than we did and tried to teach us that we could be and do more.
I carry his lessons with me to this day, and mourn the passing of a good man.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family. May your thoughts of him as a father and grandfather bring you peace.
