Emmett C. Stimac's Obituary
Mr. Emmett C. Stimac, age 77, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011 at his home. He was born August 27, 1933 to George and Mary (Malnar) Stimac in Kincade, IL, and lived in the Muskegon area since 1961. He was a teacher in the Orchard View Schools for 30 years before retiring, and was also very active in coaching many different sports teams at Orchard View, Muskegon High, and N. Muskegon. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and especially golf, and also spent time as a driver’s training instructor. Mr. Stimac married Elizabeth Ann Shaw on January 17, 1956 in Nashville, TN, and she preceded him in death on December 17, 1999. SURVIVORS include 2 sons, Anthony Gene (Debra) Stimac, Sr., Carl Lance (Gretchen) Stimac, Sr. both of Muskegon; 4 grandchildren, Tony, Erica, Carl, Jr., and Joseph Stimac; 1 brother, Ralph Stimac of Chicago; 3 sisters, Evonne (Roger) Scheiblein of Chicago, Josephine (James) Martin of Mt. Zion, IL, Elizabeth (William) Sears of Phoenix, AZ; many loving nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters, Steve, Caroline, George, Edward, Frances, Anthony, John, Raymond, and Anna. SERVICES will be 10:00 AM Thursday, April 21, at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave.(231) 726-5210 with the Rev. Fr. Michael Olson officiating. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION at the funeral home will be from 5-8 Wednesday evening.
