Eugene F. Hendricks' Obituary
Mr. Eugene F. Hendricks, age 80, passed away Thursday evening, November 26, 2015 at Roosevelt Park Nursing Center, after a brief stay. He was born May 29, 1935 in Muskegon Heights to John and Josephine (Duram) Hendricks; and had been a life resident of the area. Prior to his retirement Gene had owned and operated the Seven-Eleven Store on Hackley and Barclay; and Holiday Foods. During his career, he had also been the store manager for several area grocery stores before becoming a maintenance worker for Maranatha Bible and Conference Center. He also enjoyed playing golf with friends. On September 19, 1953 he married the former Laurel Woodring; and she survives him along with 2 sons, Thomas (Kathy) Hendricks and James (Joan) Hendricks of Muskegon; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 3 sisters, Jane Brady, Marlene McPherson and Catherine Heil. Gene was preceded in death by his parents; son, David; brother, Herman and 3 sisters, Donna and Karen Hendricks and Colleen Stafford. A MEMORIAL VISITATION will be held 2:00 – 4:00 PM Monday, November 30, 2015 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231-798-1100). Final Interment will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
