Eugene Raymond "Gene" Egeler's Obituary
Mr. Eugene Raymond Egeler, age 59, passed away at his home Saturday, December 5, 2009. Gene was born November 21, 1950 to Richard and Harriet (Bogner) Egeler in Muskegon. He worked his entire life building and designing machines. Gene’s passions were the simple things in life; his family, cooking; the power of a thunderstorm, and the silence of grass growing. His most relaxing moments were spent exploring Grand Marais and Beaver Island. On December 21. 1973, he married the former Patricia Trombley and she survives him. In addition to his wife of 36 years, Pat, Gene is survived by his son, Eric (Jennifer) Egeler of Spring Lake; his daughter, Andrea ( Fiance’ Eric Nicholes) Egeler of Muskegon; 2 precious grandsons, Nickolas and Kaleb; his Father Richard of Muskegon; 3 brothers, Rick (Patty) Egeler of Muskegon, Skip (Deb) Egeler of Byron Center, and Mark Egeler of Muskegon; 4 sisters, Christine Wellman of Grand Rapids, Kathy (Mark) Olson of Muskegon, Laura (Jack ) Nummerdor of Muskegon, and Annette Aldridge of Fruitport; many nieces and nephews; and his loyal and constant companion, Molly. He was preceded in death by his mother Harriet, in 2007. A MEMORIAL VISITATION will be held from 6-8PM Thursday evening December 10, 2009 at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W.
