Eugene Sterling Dare's Obituary
Mr. Eugene Sterling Dare, age 87, passed away Monday, May 3, 2010, at Mercy VNS Hospice House. Mr. Dare was born April 5, 1923 to Melvin and Georgia (Rosecrans) Dare Sloan in Detroit, MI. In November of 1947 he married the former Ann Carlson in Muskegon and she preceded him in death in June of 1997. He served his country in the US Army during WWII. Mr. Dare was employed as a supervisor at American Coil Spring Manufacturing for 40 years until his retirement in 1982. He is survived by 2 sisters, Virginia Smith of Spring, TX and Dolores (Bill) Mossman of Baraboo, WI; several nieces and nephews, as well as his helper and niece, Nanci DeLong. He was also preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers who were killed in WWII. Private graveside services will be held in Lakeside Cemetery.
