Evelyn Farmer's Obituary
Mrs. Evelyn Farmer, age 95, of Grand Haven passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018 at North Ottawa Community Hospital. She was born February 7, 1922 in Milan, MI to Brice and Helen (Knerr) McFall. She was married to Robert H. Brady and later married Tom Farmer who preceded her in death.
Evelyn helped her parents seine minnows in Lake Michigan, rent boats and sell bait on Mona Lake. She skinned and stretched Muskrat hides, smoked and sold smoke fish from her home. Evelyn managed the restaurant at Welcome Travelers, sold Christmas trees in Texas for many years and co-founded Brady Farms. She was an active volunteer for hospice, she loved gardening, photography and cooking great meals. Her love and dedication to her family was second to none and she will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by three children: daughter, Paula Collins; sons, Bob (Morena) Brady, Jim (Nancy) Brady; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Phyllis McFall; brother-in-law, Duke Mavis; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ilene Knerr, and Shirley Mavis; two brothers, Embert McFall and Ronald McFall.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at The VanZantwick Chapel (620 Washington Ave). Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place in Lakeshore Cemetery.
