Evelyn L. Malmstrom, age 93, passed away Thursday evening, May 6, 2010 in Milwaukee following complications from a fall. Evelyn was born in Muskegon on January 15, 1917 to Cecil and Amber (Sweet) Richter. She married Mr. Herbert M Read Obituary
I have a little story that I thought might interest the family.
Apparantly, my parents still didn't have a name for me as they were in the hospital in 1960 for my delivery. My mom was reading the newspaper and saw an ad for Angie's clothing store. That was it! We said goodbye to Grandma on Wednesday but know she isn't gone. We can still talk to her whenever and wherever we like. I know she is listening(and now she can really hear us). Kay, I don't know if you will even remember me... however I could never forget your mom. I remembered her working in a dept store next to Carl's Food Market. She was always so very special, thoughtful and considerate at work and in her home. I think of her as a beautiful, and proper lady. I admired her more than you could ever know. I remember many fun onversations with her. She made me feel welcomed always. May God bless you with many fond memories now and always. I was sorry to hear of Evelyn's passing. She is now home with her wonderful husband, Herb, Roger, Terry and Shelly, and our Lord and Savior looking down on her loving children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Evelyn was such a special lady. She was fun loving, interested in listening to your family updates and oh so much fun to go out with to luncheons and shop. Oh,so many beautiful memories of Evelyn!! She meant so much to so many people.....I remember her wonderful sense of humor,loving heart & gentle soul. Shopping trips & lunch with the girls were always fun with Evelyn!! I enjoyed seeing her eyes light up when she held her great grandbabies or spoke of her daughters or grandchildren!!!
I hope we all will continue to find ways to celebrate the memory of a very loved & admired lady.Evelyn would want everyone to live every day to the fullest & continue the celebration of her contagious love for life.
