Evelyn L. Malmstrom's Obituary
Evelyn L. Malmstrom, age 93, passed away Thursday evening, May 6, 2010 in Milwaukee following complications from a fall. Evelyn was born in Muskegon on January 15, 1917 to Cecil and Amber (Sweet) Richter. She married Mr. Herbert Malmstrom in Muskegon on May 4, 1935 and he preceded her in death in 1996. Until retiring in 1982, Mrs. Malmstrom formerly owned and operated Angie’s Fashions. She was former member of Parkside Alliance Church in Roosevelt Park, a past volunteer and board member of the Muskegon Rescue Mission, past president of the Mission’s Women’s Auxillary, and an avid card player. She is survived by: two daughters, Myrna Johnson of Muskegon and Kay (David) Hoerig of Wauwatosa, WI; six grandchildren, Michael Mollema, Kimberly (Thomas) Winegar, Scott (Michelle) Hoerig, Cory (Elizabeth) Mollema, Gina (Paul) Kittilstad and Stacy (Zachary) Damuth; 17 great-grandchildren and special friends, Tom and Lois Hogg. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Herbert; two sons, Roger & Terry and a granddaughter, Shelly Lynn Bunney. The funeral service will be held at: The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, Rev. Kenneth Hogg officiating. She will be laid to rest in Mona View Cemetery. The family will begin receiving friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial Contributions: Muskegon Rescue Mission.
