Florence Ruth Stahl's Obituary
Mrs. Florence Ruth Stahl, age 88, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, August 5, 2022. She was born in Muskegon on April 12, 1934 to Joseph and Ruth (McPherson) Asp. Florence was employed as an executive secretary for GTE for 32 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Muskegon Women’s Division Chamber of Commerce, Greater Muskegon Woman’s Club and the Victorian Ladies Society. Florence was also the owner and operator of the Ostrich Plume Bridal Shop which was located in the Bright Mansion. After she closed the shop, she continued to host parties and fancy dinners in the mansion. She was an avid gardener and helped create the Monet Gardens in Muskegon. In 1969, Florence married Ralph Bright and he preceded her in death in 1979. She then met Homer Stahl on a blind date at the farmers market, and they were married at the Bright Mansion on April 12, 2014, Florence’s 80th birthday. Homer survives Florence along with her brother, Charles (Susann) Asp and two nieces, Cara (Eddie) Garcia and Shawna (Marc) Pearce. VISITATION will be from 6-8 PM Monday, August 8, 2022 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 and from 10-11AM Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at The Lee Chapel. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at The Lee Chapel with Rev. Carlos Ramos officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
