Mrs. Florence Genevieve (Goranson) Lofquist went home to her Lord Sunday evening, October 26, 2003, with her family by her side. Florence was born March 28, 1908 to Henry Albin and Orpha Beana (Bertelson) Goranson and resided in the Muskegon area all of her life. She was baptized and confirmed at Samuel Lutheran Church, was a life- long member, and a member of the Esther Circle. She married Carl Albin Lofquist on October 19, 1928 in South Bend, IN, and he preceded her in death on May 26, 1986. She was a member of the Esther Circle. Her father opened one of the first bowling alleys in Muskegon and he was also a charter member of the Viking Lodge #57. Her occupations included tailoring at Sifford’s Tailor Shop, cashiering at Puhalski’s Food Store, managing the NK Bowling Alley, and raising her family. Florence had a zest for life and loved doing activities with her family. She loved bowling and bowled until she was 93. Many of the things she enjoyed included playing cards, dancing, camping trips, shuffleboard, visits to Florida to see her son, drawing, writing poetry and just being with family. SURVIVORS include four children, Carol (Bill) Pacillo of Muskegon, Sharon (Joe) Fodrocy of Muskegon, Robert (Ruth) Lofquist of Auburndale, FL, and John Lofquist of Hudsonville; seventeen special grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Paul (Sue Ambrose) Goranson; and many loving nieces and nephews. Florence will be forever remembered and kept close in our hearts. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard, and grandson, Ricky; three sisters and spouses, Virginia (Fred) Ammond, Myrtle (Bernie) Liefer, Doreen (George) Grimm; brother, Harvey (Mary Ann) Goranson; and sister-in-law, Catherine Goranson. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Samuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Chris Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. VISITATION with her family will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Wednesday at
