Mr. Francis A. "Fritz' DeBoer's Obituary
Mr. Francis A. “Fritz” DeBoer, 88, passed away Tuesday evening, March 12, 2013. Born December 15, 1924 to Frank and Hattie (Stevens) DeBoer, he was a life resident of Muskegon. Fritz worked at Teledyne Continental Motors Corp. for more than 40 years before retiring, and was a member of Local 113 there. He was also a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Seventy years ago on October 1, 1942 he married the former Eleanor Mae Johnson, and she survives him. Fritz loved his Saturday visits to the Farmers Market, his Sunday night family gatherings, and rabbit hunting. Family outings meant he would be looking for new meat markets and bakeries. His SURVIVORS include his wife, Eleanor Mae; a son, Robert (Sharon) DeBoer of Norton Shores; daughters Barbara (Kirk) Matusiewicz of Farmington Hills and Sandra (Jeffrey) Cahill of Norton Shores; nine grandchildren: Kim and Tim Luce, Kelly and Bob Gagnon, Kerri and Matt Roberts, Daniel Matusiewicz, Kris and Noelle Matusiewicz, Erin Matusiewicz, Benjamin and Amber Cahill, David and Megan Cahill, and Rebecca Cahill; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Harold John, brother and sister-in-law J. Robert and Shirley DeBoer, and a great-granddaughter Ashley Gagnon. The FUNERAL SERVICE for Mr. DeBoer will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1132 Southern Ave., with Pastor Julie Winklepleck officiating, and interment in Norton Cemetery. VISITATION will be at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444, phone 231-798-1100 from 5-7 P.M. Friday, March 15, 2013, and one hour prior to the service at church. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
