Frank J. Kryfka Jr.'s Obituary
Frank Joseph Kryfka Jr, age 87, passed away while surrounded by family in Spring Lake, MI, on Monday, September 30, 2024. Frank was born in Detroit, MI, to Frank Sr. and Sophie (Klementowicz) Kryfka on February 1, 1937. On October 4, 1958, he married the former Margaret “Maggie” Johns, and the two of them spent 61 wonderful years building their family together until she preceded him in death in 2020. Frank proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, and then worked as a federal aviation officer for Muskegon County Airport for 35 years. He was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake. One of his favorite pastimes was fishing, and he loved spending time and traveling the world with Maggie.
Frank will be lovingly remembered by two sons: Anthony (Karen) Kryfka and John (Keri) Kryfka; four grandchildren: Jonathan (Jay) Kryfka, Melissa (Matt) York, Cody (Justine) Kryfka, and Carly (Alex) Felcoskie; five great-grandchildren: Ryker, Skylar, Giovannia, Wayland, and Westin; and many extended relatives.
A FUNERAL MASS will be taking place for Frank at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 18, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake. There will be no visitation beforehand. Following the Mass there will be A BURIAL WITH MILITARY HONORS at Spring Lake Township Cemetery at 12:15 PM. Following the burial there will be a CELEBRATION OF LIFE at Bella Maria’s Ristorante, 513 W Pontaluna Rd, Norton Shores, MI 49444, from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM, with a meal being served at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers please consider making memorial contributions to The Salvation Army.
