Fred J. Lesica, age 72, passed away at the Poppen Residence on December 25, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was born June 23, 1946 in Manistique, Michigan to Joyce and Ferdinand Lesica. He served his country as a Second Lieuten Read Obituary
Fred was a man of deep faith, of compassionate service, and committed to the cause of justice, especially for those who are overlooked or ignored.
I was blessed to have known him during my time as pastor at St. Francis de Sales.
May God grant him eternal rest and peace and bless his family.

I am sorry to learn of Fred’s passing. I was fortunate to have had the honor of sharing a few private moments with him within the last two weeks.
I knew Fred as both a fellow attorney and as a judge. Fred performed admirable service for our community by representing hundreds of individuals facing criminal charges. It’s very difficult work because many of these persons present with their own challenges and mental health and other isssues. Many of the cases involved horrible circumstances.
Throughout it all, Fred was an honest and trusted advisor and man. We could always depend on him. That counts for a lot.
We will miss him. I personally will miss him.

So sorry to hear of Fred's passing. We weren't close friends but just enough to be his date for senior prom at Manistique High School in the spring of 1964. He was such a great date and we had a really nice time that night with dinner at the Arrowhead Inn and dancing in the "new" gym. He also attended the after-Senior Class Play party at my house. Memories were made that night! Lots of laughter. His obit reads like a life well-lived and dedicated to family, friends, and avocation. May his family know that as a young man, his was an exemplary life mirrored in his later life. Share his story, often...for it is in the sharing that he remains here still. First so sorry to see on web site: The passing of a very good friend. Sorry I did not make it to see him. So may this poem help. I`am FREE don`t grieve for me, for now I`m free. I took his hand when I heard him call. I could not stay another day, to love, to laugh, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, for I found peace at last, that day. His parting has left a void, then fill it with remembering joy, a friendship sharded, laugh and more. His life been full,Good friends,good times. Lift up your heart and share. GOD called him home and now his life in time has come to end. He will be sadly missed but if we keep him in our thoughts and flashback to all the great times we had. He will never be forgotten. Fred would have my brother and I come over and play with his kids, Paul and Sarah, all the time as kids. I even watched them, as I was just a bit older, and he would pay me. We played Nintendo, TMNT, and outside a lot over there. Fred would even take us to football games and fireworks. I only really interacted with him when I was a child, but he left a positive impression on me. My heart goes out to his family and friends.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord and let the perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace. The parish families at St. Francis de Sales Church.
