I just want to tell Fred's family what an inspiration Fred was to my husband and me. I suspect many others would join in this chorus. I worked with Fred at Carr School many years ago. He and Ruth and Joanne and I were relatively new to the system if my memory is accurate. I felt so blessed to be working with such devoted people in my chosen field.
Years later, when my husband and I ran into Fred at Meijer, we shared what was going on in our lives and he mentioned his amputation and then, without skipping a beat, with great joy, went on to tell me what a full life he had. He was, indeed, a person who saw the glass as half full, not empty. He had a great impact on my life and I am grateful to have known him.
