Frederick Charles Ruud's Obituary
Mr. Frederick C. “Pat” Ruud, 91, of Muskegon, MI passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023, surrounded by his family at the Poppen Hospice Residence in Fruitport Township. Pat was the baby of 13 children born to Hans and Georgiana (Renault) Ruud on April 18, 1932. On June 26, 1954, he married the love of his life, Theresa Ruud (Sanocki), and they enjoyed nearly 70 years together. Pat was employed by Teledyne Continental Motors for 45 years prior to his retirement in 1994. One of his favorite activities was polka dancing. Pat enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and hosted many family get-togethers. He enjoyed tending to his well-manicured lawn, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, playing solitaire, eating out, or getting caught up with the news. Pat was very quick with his one-liners and had an infectious laugh. He was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church in Muskegon Heights, Michigan. He will be deeply missed and is survived by his wife of 69 years, Theresa; daughters, Joni (John Szydlowski) Swanson of Ravenna, Sharon (Del) Swanson of Muskegon, Diane (Dale) Everett of Muskegon, and Nancy (Scott) Rosencrants of Fruitport; grandchildren, Julie Winter of Cypress, Texas, Russell “Mike” (Brittney Nuvill) Swanson of Fruitport, Dr. Craig Swanson of Green Bay, WI, Brooke (Ryan) Nickisch of Fruitport, Patrick Rosencrants of Twin Lake, Drew Rosencrants of Grand Rapids, Daniel (Susan) Everett of Muskegon, and David Everett of Muskegon; great-grandchildren, Janey Winter, Isaac Winter, Whitney Spinner-Nuvill, Alivia Swanson, Piper Swanson, Russell “RJ” Swanson, Madison Nickisch, Allie Nickisch, Vivian Rosencrants, Peyton Everett, and Christian Everett; sisters-in-law, Emily Ruud of Muskegon, Marie Schuelke of Manistee and Christine (Milton) Hindman of Brethren; and several nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Thomas Ruud; brothers, Ernest, Lionel, Douglas, Allen, Ralph, Clarence, Edward, and Francis Ruud; sisters, Adeline Ruud, Alma Cole, Pearl Carslake, and Dorothy Flora; parents-in-law, Frank and Margaret (Kalza) Sanocki; sisters-in law, Eleanor Kuzniar, Dorothy Revolt, Evelyn Beauvais; and brothers-in-law, Leonard Sanocki and John Sanocki. According to his wishes, entombment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery and a Private Family Service has taken place. A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful care staff at the Poppen House, with special thanks to nurse, Aubrey, for her devotion to Pat and his family as he was ushered into the arms of Jesus.
