Frederick Marshall Schmidt's Obituary
Mr. Frederick Marshall Schmidt, age 75, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Fruitport on Tuesday, March 9, 2021. He was born in Grand Haven, Michigan on June 12, 1945 to Joseph and Nathalie (St. Germain) Schmidt. Fred was employed as an electrician for Integrated Metal Technologies and later by Foreway Transportation as a truck driver prior to his retirement. Fred enjoyed archery, shooting pistols, race cars (especially drag racing), and bowling. Most importantly, he loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. On March 5, 1976, Fred married the former Carol Marie Homoly in Belding, Michigan and she survives him along with their three sons, Bill (Ashley) Schmidt, Adam (Jennifer) Schmidt, and Fred Schmidt Jr.; his daughter, Shelly Cook Clay; seven grandchildren, Ryder, Reese, Korbin, William, Kensey, Adalyn, and Maddison; two brothers, Joe (Vickie) Schmidt and Randy (Trang) Schmidt; and two sisters, Diann (Jeff) Burke and Karen (Glen) Edwards.
