Mr. Frederick W. “Red” Bennett, age 77, passed away Monday evening, June 8, 2009 following a long illness. He was born in Muskegon on December 27, 1931 to Gordon and Dorlene (Thompson) Bennett and was a graduate of Muskegon Hts. H Read Obituary

It was such a pleasure to care for him at Lifecare. I met his beautiful family and saw the love they had for him. I got to know the man he was. He was strong, humble and loved his family deeply even in the end. God has a special place for him. My heart goes out to everyone of you,

My Sunday's working at the Cherokee were never complete until after I waited on "Red" and "Grumpy Old Joe". Red always had a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed!!!!

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. I have only personally known Fred for 3 three years but he worked with my father at Continental Motors and he mentioned Fred often over the years. Two and a half years ago my son married his granddaughter so our paths have crossed many times since then. I always enjoyed the conversations we had about the union etc. at gatherings at his daughter and son-in-law Jim and Jane Heneveld’s . I also enjoyed Billie and Fred’s company on our trip to Punta Cana for Scott and Kim’s wedding. I will miss him.

Billie and family, We were so sad to hear about Red. Our family has such fond memories of he and our Dad(Joe.) We know Dad and Red had so many great times on the golf course. (They are probably together now playing 18 holes.)We also appreciated Red coming to visit Dad at the Nursing Home...it meant a lot to Dad too. Red was a good friend!
