Frederick W. "Red" Bennett's Obituary
Mr. Frederick W. “Red” Bennett, age 77, passed away Monday evening, June 8, 2009 following a long illness. He was born in Muskegon on December 27, 1931 to Gordon and Dorlene (Thompson) Bennett and was a graduate of Muskegon Hts. High School. Fred was a Machinist at Continental Motors for 40 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of: the Viking Linne Lodge #57, the Mona Lake Boating Club, U.A.W. Retirees, Michigan State Employees Association and the Michigan Sheriffs Association. Fred was also a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post #225. He married the former, Billie S. Cann on July 19, 1951 and she survives him along with; two loving daughters, Jane (Jim) Heneveld of Norton Shores and Cathy (Roger) Schmidt of Twin Lake; brother, Gordon “Jim” (Jacqueline) Bennett of Muskegon; sister, Dorlene “Dee” Wilson of Circle Pines, MN; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
