Todd Schaallema
Uncle Fred, as we say goodbye to you today, I wanted to let you know how important you have been to me throughout my life. You were there when I needed that positive male role model as a young child, introducing me to the Tigers and Wolverines, my favorite teams because of you. When you lived with us, you seemed to always have time to go out and play catch if I asked, took me to work with you a few times, and the trip to Tiger stadium during the '84 season is still probably my 2nd favorite memory as a child. Even after you met Aunt Louise and was starting your own life with wife and family, you still found time to take me plowing with you and camping on Whelan Lake and the Pine River. Even later, Christmas, Easter and Mother's Day dinners spent at your house were something that I always looked forward to with excitement, along with just stopping out once in a while at your place just to visit. R.I.P. Uncle Fred, I will never forget you! Your "favorite" nephew Todd. Lol
