Fredrick William Spier's Obituary
Fred William Spier went home on April 15, 2013 to be with our Savior after losing a courageous battle of liver disease. Fred was born on July 5, 1943 to Fredrick and Lorraine (Clutchy) Spier in Muskegon and was a life resident. Fred was a loyal member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church. Who knew that a blind date would lead to the love of his life, he married the former Ollie Pierce on November 8, 1963. Ollie survives him along with four children. Cindy (Dave) Gilleo, Brenda (Todd) Neuman, Dean (Laura) Spier, Dale (Vicky) Spier; Nine grandchildren, Danielle, Chris, Chrysta, Chel Bell, Amanda, Jessee, RaeLynne, Kole, and Kaden; brother, Edward (Lorrene) Spier; sisters, Judi Grimard and Susan Snell; along with many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He worked 23 years at CWC Textron and then went on to work at the Muskegon Correctional Facility as a guard for 16 years prior to retiring in 2004. FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, April 18, 2013 at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Pastor John Frank officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 5-8 PM on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers please consider Mercy VNS and Hospice or Grace Memorial Baptist Church. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
