Fred W. Frietchen's Obituary
Fred W. Frietchen, age 75, of Spring Lake passed away Sunday, April 25, 2010, at the Leila & Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence in Muskegon. He was born August 1, 1934 in Spring Lake to William and Catherine (Albright) Frietchen.
Mr. Frietchen was a graduate of Grand Haven High School. He served his country in the Army National Guard. Mr. Frietchen married the former Phyllis Camp in 1956. He was a lifelong resident of Spring Lake and worked for 29 ½ years at Gardener-Denver. He was a Lifetime member of the Grand Haven Eagles Arie 925, an avid Nascar fan, and loved to deer hunt.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Spring Lake; four daughters: Wanda (Thomas) Eckels, Kathy (Dennis) Rice, Georgianna (Anthony) Green, Bonnie (Bryan) Swiftney, all of Grand Haven; 1 son, Steven Frietchen of Fruitport; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandsons; 2 sisters: Luella Frietchen of Spring Lake, Willene (John) Wybenga of Georgia; 2 sisters-in-law: Ruth Frietchen of Spring Lake, Elsie (Jim) Campbell of Paint Rock, Texas; 1 brother-in-law Arthur (Debbie) Gustafson of Spring Lake; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother William Frietchen Jr., and 1 grandson Leland Eckels.
In accordance of Fred’s wishes private graveside services will be held. Interment will be in Spring Lake Cemetery. Memorials to the Leila & Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence are appreciated.
