I am sorry to see Gary's obit in the Sunday paper; my condolences to his family. I am retired now, but I was the Secretary in the Social Sciences Department at MCC. He came in frequently to see the History teachers, and one day asked me what classes I thought he might be interested in. We had quite a discussion, and he stopped in many times after that just to chat. I sure enjoyed his visits, and I hope I brightened his day, as much as he did mine. He sure did enjoy taking classes at MCC. You may already know this, but he liked to sit by the young female students. He would listen to what they talked about, and once they got used to an old man (his words, not mine) sitting by them, they would begin to talk to him. And of course, they learned to enjoy his conversation, as much as he enjoyed sitting by them. Teachers enjoyed having him in their classes, since he represented a different perspective on life, and a life well lived.
