I was fortunate enough to have gone through the RCIA process, and then become fully initiated into the Catholic faith with Gayla approximately 14 years ago this Easter. It was so obvious by Gayla's enthusiasm for the Catholic faith that this conversion was the right move. She then went on to be instrumental in Girl Scouts, which my girls were a part of, as well as being a Sponsor for my daughter when she was being confirmed. I also had the privilege of getting trained for the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd with Gayla. Some of our training occurred in Ann Arbor, which made for some fun, insightful times together. As always, Gayla's easygoing, gentle, always kind and thoughtful ways made all around her, including myself, know where her center was -- Jesus Christ. She was an awesome example of being like Jesus "with skin on" (to coin a phrase Father Bill uses). To put others before herself was second nature to Gayla, and because of this we know who she gets to live her new life with -- her Lord, Savior, and best friend. Prayers for comfort, strength and peace go out to Rachel, Kenneth, Michael, Alex, and to her extended family, and friends.
With love & deep sympathy,
Tracy Johnson & Family
