you were there for so long,

I also was deployed with MSG Zornes in Kosovo from 2006-2007. She could be best described as a very accountable, dependable, warm, and caring individual. I served with MSG Zornes in Kosovo in 2006-2007. She was an excellent NCO and an excellent Wardwaster of the ICU in the US Army Hospital at Camp Bondsteel (Kosovo). I was new to a leadership position as an Army Nurse Corps Officer and learned a lot from her. She taught us that you have to hold Soldiers accountable in order for the mission to succeed. I also learned that she had a heart of gold and genuinely cared deeply for the welfare of all the Soldiers on the mission.
We didn’t have much spare time in Kosovo but MSG Zornes would use her off duty time to visit a local orphanage where she delivered clothing, candy, hugs, and love.
I was impressed with her intelligence as well, especially after she told me how she became a nurse. She became a LPN through a unique US Army Reserve program in which the Soldiers are trained during weekend drill over a period of several years. Because of the structure of the “weekend LPN program” much personal discipline, drive, and innate intelligence is required. Out of the 6 to 10 persons who started this program in our reserve unit, she was the only person to finish and obtain LPN licensure.
Thank you Gina for your examples in life that we can emulate, for T shirt you had specially made for all of us in ICU, and for the year you gave our country while forwardly deployed in Kosovo away from home and family.
