Geneieve "Gina" Zornes' Obituary
Ms. Geneieve “Gina” Zornes, age 45, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2009 at the Poppen Residence. She was born May 12, 1964 in Charleston, West Virginia to Frankie and Rose (Mota) Zornes, Sr., and resided in the Muskegon area since 1966. Gina served her country in the U.S. Army, receiving the rank of Master Sergeant. She was a member of Christ Community Church of Spring Lake, and was a very active person who never sat still. Gina earned her Masters in Business Administration, and also worked as a nurse for Divita Dialysis for 7 years and previously at Heartland Healthcare. SURVIVORS include her life long special friend of 20 years Lorie Mabrito; son, Chase Zornes-Mabrito; sister, Rose (Nikki) Zornes; brothers, Ed (Pat) Zornes, Danny (Stacey) Mabrito, Kenny (Brandy) Mabrito, Jerry (Sara) Mabrito; special mom, Carol (Rick) Turner; special friends, Dan Martinez, Becky and Maureen; special grandparents, Jerry and Joyce Hazekamp; and several special aunts, uncles and cousins. Gina was preceded in death by her father, Frankie Zornes, Sr. in 1979; her mother, Rose Zornes in 1997; and 2 brothers, Ronald Zornes in 1990 and Joe Zornes in 1975. The FUNERAL SERVICES will be 11 AM Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at The Lee Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Rev. Bob Kleinheksel officiating. VISITATION with Gina’s family will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday. Burial with full military honors will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Memorial Contributions to Harbor Hospice will be appreciated.
