Like many folks I first met George at the Playhouse in Traverse City. I remember him as a gentle and slyly humorous fellow. He and I crossed paths many times and he always greeted me with a smile and a hug. We sure had some fun back then and I shall drink a glass of Pinot Georgio in his honor. God bless you George and your family too. Ronnie Murden Traverse City, Mi
I had the privilege of working with George for many years at Northwestern Michigan College. He was a caring instructor and had a wonderful sense of humor. George was such a kind and good person. My condolences are with his family.

The first time I met George, I was running lights at the Old Town Playhouse. He asked me if I sang in the car and of course I replied that I did. He told me that if I could sing in the car, I could sing on stage. From then on, I was hooked. Such a great guy. Always up for a laugh, a ski, or a sympathetic ear. So many people whose lives you have touched in this community. We will never forget you because you will live in our hearts.
I ran a winery on Old Mission Peninsula for eight year's. George was always eager and willing to help me during big wine events, and always with a smile on his face! In return for his help I would “pay him” in wine. When asked what his favorite wine was, he replied “Pinot Georgio”! From that moment on Pinot Grigio became Pinot Georgio. I’m raising a glass of Pinot Georgio to you George! May you Rest In Peace dear friend.

I pray for George, as I remember the closeness of the Beeby and DeGabriele families in Negaunee and Houghton since the 1950's. I will particularly miss George's big smile every time I saw him anywhere. Hopefully I can learn from this experience to love life more, and to cherish my friends more deeply.

I knew George from the OTP. He and o did a show together back in 1987. The show was “Anything Goes” George played a number of different characters in the show but he always had trouble with his makeup, so I helped him. It was hilarious as the progression of the show went on his eyebrows kept getting bigger and bigger with each passing show. We laughed so hard every time! He was such a good sport and a funny and cordial man every time our paths crossed over the years. RIP friend.
