Mr. George Orval Parsons' Obituary
Mr. George Orval Parsons, age 95, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at his home. Mr. Parsons was born April 4, 1919 to George W. and Ethel (Misner) Parsons in Newaygo. He married Flora Pulsipher and she preceded him in death in 1987. George served his country in the US Army during WWII. He was employed at CWC Textron for over 30 years. George enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also liked to tear apart small engines and sometimes even put them back together. He is survived by his son, Floyd Parsons of Lebanon, OR; his daughters, Lannette Williams of West Lawn, PA and Shirlene Ann (Ted Hazelton) Dean of Wolf Lake;a stepson, Ron Chapman; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and his brother, Lester Parsons of Muskegon. Along with his wife, George was preceded in death by his daughter, Ann Shirlene Medacco; brothers, Floyd and Harry and sisters, Ann Brutchie and Millie Montavlo. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Monday, December 15, 2014 at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave. 231 726-5210, with Pastor John H. Brown officiating and Full Military Rites under the auspices of VFW – Muskegon County Council. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION will be 2-5 pm Sunday.
