I met George at our USMC Birthday party. George was our guest speaker. As he came to the stage that day using his walker you could tell he was determined and proud to be there.
He talked to us about his time in the service, his combat experience and his pride for America. Here is a man in his 90's and still wanted to be around his fellow veterans.
Since that day I have sit with George at the Rendezvous Restaurant in Grand Haven. We would talk and at the end I would say, "Thank you for your Service". And he would say to me, "Thank you for your service also, Mack".
Here we are 2 men from different branches of the service and different times of war with a age difference of 32 years. But we both respected each other for we went where we were told to go during a time in history that our country needed us.
God Bless You, George Spinks
