George was a great brother-in-law. He was a very good listener. He was always so proud of Xanders swimming accomplishments and encouraged him to give it his best. It has been a hard loss for the family to have. I will miss him dearly. Rosanne
I'm thankful I knew you... you were a wonderful man, kind, loving, generous... but to you I say Thank You for raising such an incredible son... I am blessed everyday with his love, and I owe so much to you George... I'm proud to call you my Father-in-law... I will miss you... Blessings on your Journey, Fly Free
I'm really not sure what to even say. I've been strangely silent as of this last week. I was planning to come to Florida with my mom for a visit for Xander and of course see George and Betty and Joe, but things had come up that we could not afford it and now I feel even worse. I would not have been there by this time, but I still wish I could come and be there for everyone and offer support. I can't even say how appreciative I am of George and all of the Wilder's for their kindness and generosity for my sister, though undeserving, and also now and continuously for my nephew, Xander. I always really enjoyed talking with George and Betty on visits and seeing how much he loved his family, his doggies, and of course his ability to grill a mean hamburger! I don't have many memories, just a handful and I will cherish them. I'm not super familiar with sudden loss, and though I am not super close with the family, I felt close enough to hurt for Betty, Joe, Xander, and everyone else in the family. I love all of you. Please take care, God has George's hand and he will be waiting for all of you at the gates. He is and was an amazing person who touched so many lives, especially Xander's. I love you all, and God bless. - Sara Thornton

George you and Betty were some of the best friends we had. It was great watching the kids grow up.
