This is a quote that we feel describes Gerry perfectly. He had such a happy spirit and a love of people and life. Others felt uplifted upon encountering Gerry. With Jon, the word "step-son" was never in Gerry's vocabulary. He was his son, period. Gerry was a leader, a fantastic chef, and the life of the party. He and Mom hosted the rehersal dinner for our wedding, Gerry took center stage and all who attended thought Gerry was quite engaging. May you rest in peace eternally, Pop. Dear Jerry..
I'm so very glad to have shared so many wonderful years of friendship with both you and Mary. I remember many times in Holiday FL, that we just had good, honest conversation at the breakfast table, and today I asked myself...What makes a friendship special? I know it's a sence of being relaxed with the person,and "that" person, truly being himself, of knowing that, no matter what, all things in life will be understood and accepted.
You already know Jerry, that it's being able to share both the good times and the bad times,it's knowing that there's always support and encouragement with all your friends in Florida and Spring Lake. You spent 79 wonderful years with us, now your in Heaven with God, and I know he has great expectations for you to accomplish.
