Dear VanRandwyke family.
I got acquainted with your father (and grandfather) Gerrit in the last couple of years
I served at River Terrace Church. I did the funeral for Gerrit's wife, Evelyn. Over several visits, I got to know this gentle man who loved God and you, his family. He was a thoughtful man of few words.
Always the engineer, he patiently attempted to explain the technical part of radio broadcasting to non-technical me. He was proud of his years of service in WWII and and the years he served at MSU. I still have a little laser flashlight that Gerrit gave me. May his light shine brightly in the presence of our Lord.
