Brenda...I am so sorry to hear about your loss. It is so hard to lose someone that you have loved your entire life. However God is good and he has a wonderful special place for her. Praying for you,Bob and the entire family during this time.
Aunt Gert was always a Christian first .Both she and Uncle Jim supported and loved their church. She was also a proud mom and grandma . She was an excellent Bus Driver but probably more of my memories of her were her in the kitchen-that would be ANY kitchen... She also sent cards to family and friends--I think she sent me anniversary cards for the last 51 years ! When we went to see her Tuesday-she immediately reminded me of my 51st.
Last December Brenda and she flew to Tampa and joined us at her great nieces wedding. This was a sacrifice of love and meant the world to our sister Lora. Aunt Gert has been like a mother to our sister since our mom died.
As she was at peace with Uncle Jim so was she with her own impending death. Serene in her faith and wanting everyone to know that she loved them. A class act.
As Lora said ,"she leaves a large hole in my life".
We will all miss her.

I have been apart of this family for over 25 yrs and as Marlene's step daughter, MY grandma never treated me like a 'step' I was, am AND ALWAYS will be her GRAND DAUGHTER and she will Always be my grandma. I love her more than anyone could ever Imagine, her and my grandpa loved me just the same, I felt it in their hugs, kisses and absolute dedication to my life, they were there for everything from me having my firstborn to her having hers, she and grandpa went to my sons sporting events when they were able. Even though her obituary says 'step grandchildren' I know in my heart I was just her grand daughter to her. I am gonna miss her so much. Thank you Grandma for ALL you have done for me and my family in all these years, most of all thank you for giving me the best 'other' mother a girl could ever ask for!
I love you and me and Terry will always remember what you said, we love you so much.... Its so hard to say good bye so I will just say 'So long for now' like you said to. Thanks again to the entire family for being so accepting and loving to us. I LOVE YOU GRANDMA. Rest in your 'Glory' (that's where she told us she was going) until we meet again. My heart and prayers are with her entire family and all her friends. ❤️🙏 😢😑
Sorry about your loss. I worked with Gert many years ago at Continental motors. She was a great friend
You are all in our thoughts and prayers after the loss of your mom. I have many fond memories of Aunt Gert, especially her quick smile and generous hugs!
