Glen Grover Gray's Obituary
Glen Grover Gray, age 80, of Grand Haven passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at his home. He was born July 28, 1935, in Gary, Indiana, to Charles Samual and Virginia Mae (Greer) Gray, and he married Joan Louise Scott on July 28, 1951.
Glen was Director of Plant Engineering at Muskegon General Hospital until his retirement in 1995. He served as President of Ferry and Griffin P.T.A., Loaned Executive for the United Way, member of M.B.I.A. Association, and served on the Board at the YMCA. He loved racquetball, softball, boating, sailing, hunting, and fishing. Glen participated for 20 years with the Indian Trails Camp Kids Boat Outing. He attended Spring Lake Presbyterian and St. Patrick-St. Anthony Catholic Church. His most loved job was being a dad to his six kids.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Joan Gray of Grand Haven; four daughters: Cindy (Dan) McWilliams, Jane (Tim) Bennett, Laura (Tom) Berg, and Sara (Bill) Collins, all of Grand Haven, his son, Jeff (Marie) Gray of Grand Haven; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two sister-in-laws, Mollie (Arnold) Strang and Jill (Ralph) Gregus; brother-in-law, Greg (Michelle) Scott. He was preceded in death by his son, Glen Michael Gray on April 2, 2015; two grandchildren, Nathan and Adam Bennett; his twin brother, Gary Gray and brother Chuck Gray; his sister, Betty Jackson; his sister-in-law, Jenifer Scott; and brother-in-law, Jim Scott.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Spring Lake Presbyterian Church with Rev. Daniel Anderson officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is appreciated.
