Mr. Glen A. Tibbs' Obituary
Mr. Glen Archie Tibbs, age 83, passed away Thursday morning, January 8, 2015. He was born August 2, 1931 in Pikeville, KY to Earl and Maggie (Carroll) Tibbs and had resided in the Muskegon area since 1956. Glen worked for Teledyne Continental Motors for 38 years before retiring in 1990. He attended Sheridan Road Church of Christ and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Glen loved blue grass music, steam engine tractors, and belonged to the antique tractor club “Farm Power Club”. On February 5, 1949 he married his wife of 63 years Ruth Mae Nichols in Pikeville, KY and she preceded him in death on June 30, 2012. SURVIVORS include 4 children: Mary (Bill) Stidham, Terry Tibbs, Anita VanTuinen, Sue (Mike) Gilmore; daughter-in-law, Diane Tibbs; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mike Tibbs; granddaughter, Penny (Zylstra) DeHann; brothers and sisters. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., (231) 726-5210. VISITATION with the family will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Harbor Hospice or the Michigan Parkinson’s Foundation.
