Glenn N. DeCormier's Obituary
Mr. Glenn N. DeCormier, age 67, died Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on November 4, 1947 in Detroit to Elden and Paula (Bemis) DeCormier and resided in the Muskegon area since 1978. Glenn worked as a retail manager for K-Mart for 34 years, before retiring in 1996. Glenn was a very active member of First Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder. He is a former Commodore of the Mona Lake Boat Club as well as secretary of the Board. Glenn was “actively adventurous” and loved to water and snow ski, windsurf, bowl, play in his golf league and was a wonderful gardener. He also enjoyed cooking and grilling for his family. On May 1, 1971, he married the former Kathy Broughton and together enjoyed 44 years of marriage. SURVIVORS include his wife, Kathy; 2 children, Angela Marie (Richard) Hatchew of Grant, and Jeffrey (Angela) DeCormier of Muskegon; 6 grandchildren, Levi Walton, Audrey (DeCormier) DeVries, Taylor Walton, Savana Cooper, Dylan Hatchew and Benjamin Cooper; sister, Deborah Stanfel of Macomb Twp.; mother-in-law, Audrey Broughton; brothers-in-law, Thomas (Roberta) Broughton and James (Peggy) Broughton; sisters-in-law, Linda Broughton, Deborah Broughton-Doak and Sharon Broughton; and many nieces and nephews. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Elden and Paula DeCormier; father-in-law, Frank Broughton, and brother-in-law, Fred Stanfel. VISITATION for the family and friends will be 2-4 & 6-8PM Friday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 and 1 hour prior to the service at church, from 9:30-10:30AM. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 10:30AM Saturday at First Presbyterian Church (2577 Wickham Dr. - on the corner of Sherman Blvd.) with Pastor James B. Rausch officiating. Burial will take place in Egelston Township Cemetery (5762 Evanston Ave. Muskegon 49442).
