Glenna Marie Drummond's Obituary
Glenna Marie Drummond, age 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 4, 2025, in Ravenna. She was born January 27, 1932, in Muskegon to Harry and Leah (Smith) Cleveland. On September 22, 1950, she married the love of her life, Harry “Bing” Drummond in Muskegon, celebrating 48 years together. Bing preceded her in death in 1998. In 1972, she and Bing founded Drummonds Meat Processing in Ravenna where Glenna worked as a meat wrapper, cook, and secretary amongst many other titles, all of this while raising her own family. Because she loved babies, Glenna worked as a nanny, most notably for Governor John Engler’s triplets. Glenna never met anybody she wouldn’t send a card to; she always had a smile and was always welcoming others into her home. She was a woman of faith and a long-standing member of First Reformed Church in Ravenna, now Foundations Church, and also attended Cloverville Baptist Church. Glenna will be missed by all who knew her. SURVIVORS include five children: Donald (Barbara) Drummond of Ravenna, Pamela (Andrew “Joe”) Warber of Grandville, Peggy (Russ) Van Klompenberg of Nunica, Esther Drummond-Hayward of Ravenna, and Daniel (Jennifer) Drummond of Ravenna; 18 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Richard (Julie) Cleveland of Muskegon and Robert Cleveland of Tennessee; three sisters: Gloria Bates of Muskegon, Esther Hill of Kalamazoo, and Judy McPheron of Coopersville; sister-in-law, Mary Garver of Indiana; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Ruth Haarsma. The family would also like to thank her caregivers: Linda Wilburn and Sherry Waldo; and Tammy Plescher and the entire staff at the Tibbet House Elder Care Home for all the exceptional care given to Glenna over the years and the past few months. Glenna was also preceded in death by her parents; three infant sons: Larry and twins Terry and Jerry; son, Joseph “Joey” Drummond; great-granddaughter, Chloe Jean Peterson; son-in-law, Delbert Hayward; brothers: Harry, Raymond, and Jerry Cleveland; brothers-in-law: Norman Bates, Keith Hill, and Ken Rottman; sisters-in-law: Judy, Shirley, and Rosemary Cleveland. SERVICES for Glenna will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Foundations Church (3327 Mortimer St., Ravenna). VISITATION with the family will be from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Foundations Church. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service Thursday afternoon. She will be laid to rest in Ravenna Twp. Cemetery. MEMORIALS to Foundations Church or Cloverville Baptist Church to go towards Kids Ministries will be appreciated.
