Mr. Glenn L. Flaska, age 57, a devoted son, loving brother, dedicated uncle to his 12 nieces, nephews, great niece and loyal friend to so many, passed away unexpectedly at his home in North Carolina, July 29, 2009. He was born on September 8, 1951 the first of nine children to Ivan and Elizabeth (McMachen) Flaska. Glenn was active in Boy Scouts, earning Eagle Scout in 1967, Order of the Arrow in 1968 and the Boy Scouts of America Merit in 1987. He moved to Troutman, NC 17 years ago where he was an administrator for several nursing homes. Earlier this year, Glenn followed a lifelong dream to own and operate his own resort. He retired and was in the process of building and developing the Robincrest Resort in Troutman, NC. Glenn loved to play cribbage, a Flaska favorite game, fishing and hunting were also high on his list of favorite things. Glenn never missed a chance to spend time at Lake Michigan, no matter the season. And visiting and calling on his many friends was, a sure thing whenever back home in Muskegon. He enjoyed playing golf, racquetball (which he played with his brothers when in town) and scuba diving. Glenn will always be remembered for his adventures, and the way he would tell a story with all his heart & energy! And Glenn’s laughter and his larger than life smile will forever be what we see when we think of him. God gave us life to enjoy in abundance. Glenn obeyed our Lord and lived life to the fullest. In memory of Glenn, live life as God intended, full of life.
