Gloria Pearl Smith's Obituary
Mrs. Gloria Pearl Smith, age 80, passed away Monday evening, December 26, 2011. She was born July 12, 1931 in Whitehall, MI to Ernest and Alice (Johnson) Fordham, Sr. Mrs. Smith worked for the McDonald Corporation for 13 years before retiring in 1994. She was a member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church and enjoyed camping, fishing, and doing crafts. On December 30, 1950 she married her husband of 61 years, Frederick M. Smith, Sr. in Biloxi, MS and he survives her along with 2 children, Frederick “Rick” (Jan) Smith, Jr. of Twin Lake, Cynthia “Cyndi” (Denny) Powers of Norton Shores; 3 grandchildren, Erica (Matt) Snyder, Meghan (Mike) Haver, Tara Neal; 4 great-grandchildren, Cole and Brennan Snyder, Taylor and Bentley Haver; brother, Ernest (Linda) Fordham, Jr. of Muskegon; 2 sisters, Margie (Bob) Leverence of Grand Haven, and Ginnie Frucci of Fruitport. She was preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Nicole Radel. SERVICES will be 2:00 PM Thursday at First Baptist Church (1070 South Quarterline Rd.) with Rev. Dennis Henderson officiating. Burial will take place in Norton Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
