Hazel Erdmann's Obituary
Mrs. Hazel J. Erdmann passed into eternal peace and joined God and her old furry friend, Copper on November 10, 2011. Hazel was born on March 12, 1933 to Marvin and Helen Vink who preceded her in death. Hazel was a life-long resident of the tri-cities area and married the love of her life, Clifford D. Erdmann, on November 17, 1950. They built a home, a family and several businesses together. In 2010 they celebrated in a grand way their 60th wedding anniversary surrounded by many loved-ones. Hazel will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Cliff; her four daughters, Carla (R. Jeffrey) Lootens of New Hampshire, Christin’ Place of Pennsylvania, Cathy (David) Martin of Grand Ledge, and Connie (Jesse) Sutherland of Coopersville; seven grandchildren, Tracey Smith, Abigail (Reuben) Lootens, Stephen (Nicki) Place, Gregory (Rebekah) Place, Adam (Kathryn) Martin, Graham Martin, Spike Martin; seven great-grandchildren, Jazmine Jade, Margaret Pellegrom, Gianna Place, Addison Place, Elijah Place, Cheyenne Place, Miette Martin; and one very special beagle, Shadow. Hazel also leaves behind the wonderful group of friends who took such good care of her at Sierra, the assisted living home in Grand haven where Hazel resided in her final years. Hazel’s family will always hold her in their hearts, but will especially remember her when they tend to their flower gardens, read a good book, play with their pets, view the ocean, appreciate a mountain and hold hands with someone special. A private memorial service celebration of Hazel’s life was held by immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made to the Harbor Humane Society and Sierra Assisted Living Home are appreciated. Please sign the family’s online guestbook at www.vbkfuneralhome.com.
The family is being served by VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home of Spring Lake
