Helen F. Norton's Obituary
Helen Florence Norton passed away peacefully on April 10, 2019. She was born in Muskegon, MI, on December 10, 1919, to Bernhardt and Mable (Taylor) Kuerth. On December 10, 1937, she married her love, Bryon Norton. They had and are survived by their four beloved children: Nancy Gish of Nashville, TN; Ron (Jan) Norton of Spring Lake, MI; Norma Vida and Carroll (Dennis) Loughrige of Muskegon, MI. For over 99 years, Helen was a wonderful inspiration to her family, friends, and everyone that came into contact with her. She was a joy with an infectious, beautiful smile, witty sense of humor, who enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and skunking anyone who played cards with her. She shared her love of food baking and cooking for many loved ones; including Reeths-Puffer Laketon Junior High students for 30 years. After her retirement, Helen graciously volunteered at the Hackley Hospital coffee shop for many years. Other survivors include her brother-in-law, Harry Norton; and many treasured grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; sister, Marge Derflinger; three brothers: Carl, Harold, and Dick Kuerth; brother-in-law, Miles Norton, three sisters-in-law: Gertrude Hughes, Ruth Scheiern, and Mabel Lake; two sons-in-law: Dale Gish and Tom Vida; two grandchildren: Lisa Loughrige and Jeff Gish. Helen will be laid to rest at Laketon Twp. Cemetery. The family will privately be gathering together at a later date in remembrance. MEMORIALS to a charity of your choice will be appreciated.
