Helen M. VanderLeest's Obituary
Mrs. Helen M. VanderLeest, age 96, passed away Monday afternoon at the Sanctuary at the Park Care Facility. She was born on February 15, 1912 in Coldwater, MI to Archibald and Bertha (Clark) Lake and came to Muskegon as a young lady. She attended Muskegon Hts. schools and married Mr. Theodore VanderLeest in 1933. He preceded her in death in 1955. Mrs. VanderLeest was a clerk at North Muskegon Cleaners for 30 years, retiring in 1989. She is survived by her: son, Theodore R. (Cindy) VanderLeest of Whitehall; daughter, Carole Fenner of Palm Harbor, FL; sister, Leona Cook of Venus, FL and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her: brothers, Richard and Charles Lake and sisters, Thelma Carstairs and Peggy Zietlow. The funeral service will be held, Friday, 11:00 A.M. at: The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100. Rev. David Selleck officiating. She will be laid to rest in Mona View Cemetery. Memorial: Northside Senior Center.
