Dear Hood Family, Please know you are in my prayers. I loved Mrs. Hood very much. I remember her taking me, and my mom strawberry picking in her pale yellow "VW Beetle" with the TOP DOWN!! Man, could Mrs. Hood shift those gears, and turn those corners...! I also remember her teaching me how to "braid" in her light blue kitchen. Fast Forward 30 Years or so, and who shows up at the door....Mr. and Mrs Hood and what did they bring?....Buckets of Ferns..Oh the work.....however, I planted them as a single plant about 6 feet apart and they are just beautiful. Every summer someone always compliments me on them. So...even tho those darn ferns drove Mrs Hood nuts from spreading, To me they are a symbol of her spirit living on and on, season after season. You are a wonderful family and I am blessed to share a small part of it. Love Peggy##imported-begin##Peggy Reinecke##imported-end##
Dearest Hood Family,
Will always have great memories of "Aunt Helen", her and grandma were such dear, dear friends. I will always have such wonderful memories of you, and you always trying to give my kids extra samples at the grocery store. I will remember most swimming around Aunt Ginny's pool, and our picnics at the beach. (You and grandma would never get your hair wet). God bless!##imported-begin##Nicole (Marod) Spears##imported-end##
Helen and Bob were both very special to my parents, Natalie and Whitey Westerback. Since 1986, when my Mother passed away, every Christmas Helen has lit a light On the Hospice tree for her. I'm sure she knows how much that meant to me, as 50 years ago they were picked as my Godparents.
I was fortunate enough to see Helen this summer in the grocery store, a smile on her face as always. Her laugh is something that I will never forget.
My thoughts and prayers go to your entire family.##imported-begin##Lynn (Westerback) Shoberg##imported-end##
The Hood Family, I'm so very sorry for your loss. Mrs Hood has been part of my life since I was born and I consider her one of the family. I have the best memories of my mom and helen sitting in the back yard, drinking beer and planning all their adventures! Who could forget the time they took the outhouse seat! When I started to think about all she has done for me I realized that she has been there for every major event in my life, she changed my diapers, helped my mom drive me to florida for school, she welcomed me home from africa and helped move me to Wisconsin! What a wonderful lady, I feel very blessed to have had her in my life. I'm sorry I can't be there but please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. sue##imported-begin##Sue Reinecke##imported-end##

I am ao glad that my mother, Mary Storm, and myself got to Michigan this year and were able to visit with Helen. I so enjoyed her humor over the many years I knew her. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. She will surely be missed!##imported-begin##Susan Nixon##imported-end##
I will dearly miss Helen. My prayers and wishes go out to all of you.
I think about how fun it was growing up around Bob & Helen on Charles court. It makes me laugh on how patient she was with me when I drove everyone else crazy with my hyperactivity. I remember when Helen gave me red chili pepper from her garden and tricked my sister Amy into eating it...Ha Ha LOL man I got in trouble. She always had a wonderful place in my heart. It's moments that create memories and frienships last forever. May the Lord comfort and support you in your loss.##imported-begin##Brian Snyder##imported-end##
I was very sorry to hear about Helen. As a volunteer for Hospice she would sit with my Mom so my Dad was able to shop or just get away for an hour or two. That meant alot to our family and I know Mom enjoyed Helen's visits. I know she will be truly missed.##imported-begin##Connie Townsend##imported-end##
