Helga Maria Weisner's Obituary
Helga Maria Weisner, 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 4, 2025, in Zeeland, Michigan. She was born on February 3, 1944, to Vinzenz and Gisela (Schimo) Kotschner. She grew up in Germany and later immigrated to the United States.
Helga completed her education in Germany and began her career there before meeting Dale Weisner, a U.S. Army soldier stationed overseas. They were married in her hometown church and later relocated to Dale’s hometown of Twin Lake, Michigan, where they spent 57 years raising a family, sharing adventures, and creating cherished memories before Dale’s passing in 2024.
Helga’s passion for needlepoint, sewing, crocheting, and quilting was evident in the many beautiful pieces displayed throughout her home, which she proudly shared whenever given the opportunity. She also loved spending time in the kitchen, baking and cooking for family and friends. A dedicated employee, Helga devoted 30 years of service to the State of Michigan before retiring. As an active member of her church, she found great joy in singing in the choir, creating items for the church bazaar, and helping organize events. Her kindness and loving spirit will be deeply missed.
Helga will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Garry (Cheri) Weisner and Mathew (Cheri) Weisner; six grandchildren, Lauren (Bob) Heine, Justin Weisner, Tyler (Jasmine) Weisner, Logan Weisner, Alex Weisner and Mitchell Weisner; one brother, Rudi Kotschner; two sisters, Lotti Karitnigg and Erika Long-Radler; and many family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dale, and brother Gunther Kotschner.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Twin Lake United Methodist Church, 5940 Main St., Twin Lake, MI 49457 with Visitation being held one-hour prior at 12:00 PM.
