Henry Horst Remwolt's Obituary
Mr. Henry H. Remwolt, age 89, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2013 at his home. He was born December 18, 1923 in Anhalt, Germany to Otto and Charlotte (Priebe) Remwolt. He graduated from Muskegon Hts. High School and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. In 1947, Henry and his father founded Remwolt Cleaners and Tailors in Muskegon Heights. He was a member of the Muskegon Elk’s Lodge 274 and Muskegon Eagles Aerie 668. Henry was an avid golfer and bowler. He married the former Charlotte A. Porter in Huntington, IN on April 11, 1948. She survives him along with his daughter, Gretchen Fields of Muskegon; 4 grandchildren, Geoff Rossman, Rachel Fields, Sarah (Justin) Sternburgh and Megan Remwolt; and 2 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Ruth (Covell) Olsen of Norton Shores and Rosemarie (Warner) Johnson of Spring Lake. He was preceded in death by a son, Henry Robert Remwolt and his wife, Dolly; 2 daughters, Heidi Rossman and Lisa Remwolt. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held Saturday, June 22, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100. Visitation will begin Saturday 1:00 p.m. until service time. He will be laid to rest in Norton Cemetery.
