Rev. Herbert H. Graupner's Obituary
Rev. Herbert Henry Graupner, age 88, passed away Monday, April 27, 2020. He was born September 26, 1931 to Oscar and Louise (Hattendorf) Graupner in Fosston, MN. He graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, in 1956. He served at Trinity Lutheran Church, Muskegon, MI for 31 years until his retirement. Rev. Graupner married Nancy Lee Dobbs on June 29, 1958 in Flint, MI, who preceded him in death in September of 2002. He then married Jean Louise Bohlmann-Blase on February 12, 2005 in Edwardsville, IL.Rev. Graupner took great pleasure in sharing the story of the life and love of Jesus with people of all ages.Rev. Graupner is survived by his loving and faithful wife, Jean, daughters Elizabeth A. Green of Whitehall, MI and Anne Marie (Mark) Tietsort of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; step-children Cindy (Fritz) Ferrante of Portland, Oregon, Linda (Dan) Brantley of Edwardsville, IL, James (Lynn) Blase currently serving in Serbia, and Gary (Maria) Blase of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren Kira Clock, Tom IV (Kelli) Clock, Jack (Jessie) Clock, Amanda (Gary) Boyer, Matthew Tietsort, Kimberly (Matt) McMullan, Olivia Blase, Mariah (Ram) Miro, Alex Blase (special friend Brandi), and Margarite Blase; great-grandchildren Raegyn Tietsort, Hazel and Quentin Clock; Charlie and Conor McMullan.Rev. Graupner was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Louise, first wife Nancy, and sisters Dorothy Shefloe and Ruth Hahn. Visitation, limited to ten people at a time, will be held on Wednesday, August 19, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. A celebration of Rev. Graupner’s life will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Muskegon, with visitation from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Because of size limitations, reservations will be required to attend the service at church. Please call Trinity Lutheran Church at (231) 755-1292. The service will be filmed for Facebook Live through Trinity Lutheran Muskegon’s Facebook account. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials in Rev.
