Herbert L. Ott's Obituary
Herbert L Ott, age 102, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2016. He was born on September 21, 1913 to Nelson and Ida (Grunwall) Ott in Grand Rapids. He was a member of Olivet Evangelical Free Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and on the board for many years. Herb was a very hard worker and grew up working in the dairy business. He retired from Farr View Dairy and then worked for Structural Concepts Corp until 1977. He then worked for Interior Specialists Corp until age 93. In 1937 he married Minnie Poe and she preceded him in death in 2011. SURVIVORS include 2 sons, Richard H. (Barbara) Ott of Brighton, MI, and Donald E. (Joy) Ott of Spring Lake; 6 grandchildren: Kathy (Chris) Fazekas, Rick (Chawn) Ott, Kelly (Rev. Steve) McEuen, Karen (Scott) Frederick, Laurie (Rev. Malcolm) Davis, and Jeff (Debbie) Ott; 17 great-grandchildren: Christina Hart and Erica Fazekas, Jessica Wacker and Rick III Ott; Ben, Sam, Emily, Jacob and Chloe McEuen; Abby and Andrew Frederick, McKenna, Evan, and Conor Davis; Johannah, Jacson and Jamerson Ott; 4 great - great grandchildren: Riley, Reagan, Keith and Eli. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Art and George Ott and sister, Gladys Wylie. A FUNERAL SERVICE with Veteran Rites will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, January 23, 2016 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Muskegon. Memorials can be directed to Spring Hill Camps in Evart, MI or Olivet Evangelical Free Church.
