It was my honor & privilege to come to know Herm. I used to drive out to his house, visit with him, bring him a sandwich or soup and on 1 occasion he agreed to let me actually take him to lunch. We went to Logan's restaurant. Guess what, he was wearing a plaid flannel shirt. Herm ordered a steak, mash potatoes & fixings. I was truly thrilled with his ambitious appetite. 2 1/2 hours later, he still chatted; I listened. I loved his soft, gentle yet spirited soul. The highlight was when a few marina patrons spotted him with me and surely wondered what this "young woman" was doing with their dear Herm. He smiled, I laughed and brought the car around to take him home on that lovely October day.
God bless my friend. I will forever remember you.
The good news is that Herm's spirit lives on...... in his son, grandsons and all that knew Herm.##imported-begin##Molly Miles##imported-end##
